It is estimated that more than 330 million people currently suffer from Dry Eye Syndrome worldwide.  Although often misunderstood, the complex disease can even lead to a chronic vision threatening disorder, conjunctivochalasis (CCh). Certain modern day conveniences are thought to be a cause in the increase of the condition, with extended viewing of digital screens, laser eye surgery, exposure to air conditioning and increased life expectancy to blame for the growing incidence. The global dry eye market is currently dominated by three companies: Allergan, Novartis, and Santen, but one company is hoping to shake up this $3.7 billion market with their new prescription eye drops. Noam Danenberg Chief Operating Officer of Wize Pharma, joins the show to shed some light on dry eye syndrome and the company’s approach to treatment.

Diabetes has been declared a global epidemic, the rapid rise in the number of people living with diabetes worldwide underscores the need for more effective treatments that can delay and even prevent the use of insulin injections. Ronen addresses the $408 billion e-commerce market’s need for technological improvement when it comes to consumer size matching. Currently, 40% of online clothing purchases are returned and the company’s app, MySizeID, hopes to disrupt the online apparel market by offering a solution that can significantly reduce returns for online purchases.

Volez, Voguez, Voyagez literally translated means “Fly, Sail, Travel” and that’s exactly what the 163 year old luxury brand has done. Its trunks and bags have traveled the world, and so has the exhibition, having opened at the Grand Palais in Paris, with stops in Tokyo, Seoul, and now the former American Stock Exchange Building in NYC. The exhibition explores the concept of travel as it relates to the brand’s offerings but also asks viewers to travel through time; from the brand’s humble beginnings, to the world of high-end luxury now synonymous with the French design house. Master curator and historian Olivier Saillard, along with artistic director Robert Carson, tell the story of not only the brand Louis Vuitton but the man Louis Vuitton, who at the age of 14, traveled by foot for two years to apprentice for a Parisian box maker and packer. The exhibition shows how his designs and creations have evolved to cater to different modes of evolving transportation, it’s a retrospective spanning not only 163 years of Louis Vuitton but also the art of travel. Host Annamaria Stewart takes viewers on a 10 room journey through the exhibition, exploring the milestones, founders, clients, and inventions that have defined the brand. She also gives viewers a look at the exhibition’s newest additions specific to its U.S. installation, including the “Louis Vuitton Loves America” room and the special high-tech augmented reality experiences unique to New York.

Oramed Pharmaceuticals Inc. (ORMP) (www.oramed.com), a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company focused on the development of oral drug delivery systems, announced today that Israel’s Ministry of Health has granted the Company approval to initiate an exploratory clinical study of its oral insulin capsule ORMD-0801 in patients with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). The proposed three-month treatment study will assess the effectiveness of ORMD-0801 in reducing liver fat content, inflammation and fibrosis in patients with NASH. Incidence of NASH is rapidly increasing, similar to the rates of increase in diabetes. We look forward to exploring ORMD-0801 as a potential treatment for NASH,” stated Oramed CEO, Nadav Kidron. Every year crowds flock to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center to attend the US Open. But months before the players arrive nearly 500 people swarm the courts vying for only 80 coveted spots as one of the tournament’s official ballpersons.
